Vipejar visits Bodegas Pradorey
This August we spent a very special day at Bodegas Pradorey, discovering its history, passion for wine and the care behind every bottle.
Great wines, good company and a spectacular setting: an experience that helps us keep telling the story of wine from its origin.
The winery also presents “A Pradorey experience”, an invitation to discover its vineyards, winery and wines.
Our recommendation of the month
For August, we recommend Terras Gauda, a fresh, aromatic and food-friendly white from Rías Baixas. Serve it well chilled with seafood, fish, salads, rice dishes or a relaxed dinner by the sea.
For other summery styles, try Tintoralba El Cantorral Blanc de Noir, an unusual white made from Garnacha Tintorera, or celebrate with 1900 Campo Delle More, an approachable Italian sparkling wine for appetisers and special moments.
Wine and winery news
The Jumilla DOP began its 2026 harvest earlier than usual, with the first grapes picked on 27 July. Monastrell, the appellation's signature variety, will arrive later, while early-ripening grapes mark the start of the vintage.
Wine culture also takes over the streets of Jumilla during the Harvest Festival, announced by the Regulatory Council for 7 to 17 August. It is a good opportunity to discover the region and revisit Monastrell in young, oak-aged and single-vineyard styles.
Wine events in Cartagena and the Murcia Region
On Wednesday 19 August at 8:30 pm, El Batel's terrace hosts a tasting of Bodega Tobía wines from D.O.Ca. Rioja, with live music. The venue lists a price of €25 per person and recommends contacting the restaurant in advance about allergies or intolerances.
In Jumilla, the tourism calendar brings together events from the 53rd Harvest Festival throughout the month. If you prefer a private plan in Cartagena, you can also explore the Vipejar Tasting Room and arrange an experience at your own pace.
